You’re walking home after an average day of work, taking your usual itinerary, on a street you know like the back of your hand, when you encounter an alien object, glimmering in the darkness…
What do you do?
Kromatrix is a digital street art installation. It’s a shiny box, with buttons, knobs and lights. It invites passersby to interact with it. To play with it.
But under its cover as a toy, it’s social experiment that examines our reaction when confronted with extraordinary things in utterly ordinary settings.
Some have a glimpse but walk away. Others are intrigued an play with it. And then, there are the few whose curiosity can only be satisfied by attempting to take it home.
Perhaps, in a modern version of the discovery of fire, Kromatrix brings out the primordial human in all of us.
