SSS-490

Berlin | 2024 | Interactive sound installation

Collaboration with 2CB Studio
SSS-490 (Sand Signal Sensor, 490mm model) is a device that transforms patterns drawn in sand on a conveyor belt into sound. It invites the audience to rediscover the simple joy of playing in the sand, and challenges them with questions like "Is it okay to touch art?" and "Can lifeless sand produce sound and awaken into something more?"

SSS-490 was featured at the School of Machines' 10-Year Anniversary Showcase in August 2024 at Kunstraum Bethanien.
